START WHERE YOU STAND
Everyone wants the perfect spot, the perfect board, the perfect weather.
It’s easy to think that’s what you need to skate well.
But most of the time, that thinking is what keeps you standing around.
You don’t need an epic stair set or a famous plaza. You need a bit of ground, a reason to roll, and the decision to go.
Some of the best sessions start with zero plan.
Just pushing out of the house, seeing where it goes and making the most of what’s there.
That’s one of the things street skating teaches you.
You work with what you’ve got.
The spot down the road you pass every day might become your favourite place if you stop and look at it differently.
The flat bit of ground you usually cruise past might be where you finally land something new.
The ledge everyone ignores might be exactly what you need today.
And sometimes nothing happens.
You roll around. Try a few things. Talk rubbish. Go home.
That still counts.
Skateboarding isn’t about waiting until everything lines up perfectly. If you do that, you’ll spend more time waiting than skating.
The streets are already there.
Your board is already there.
Start where you stand.
See what’s possible.
